Does iPhone Need Antivirus?
The good news is this- iPhone does not need anti-viruses. Even though a lot of security companies boasts of products that support and protects iPhone, these products aren’t really antiviruses, and whichever way, Apple makes sure you don’t even get to need it. Apple boasts that it “designed the iOS platform with security at its core.” And while it isn’t technically impossible for iOS devices to get viruses, the likelihood of this is extremely low. This is because the iOS platform uses user partition which limits access to the operating system to sandbox iPhone apps.
What If My iPhone Has Been Jailbroken?
The only iPhone viruses that are actually possible threats to iDevice users are worms which only attack iDevices after they have been jailbroken, because most malware gain access into iDevices mostly during the installation of third-party apps, as the operating system is then vulnerable to attacks.
How Apple Prevent iPhone from Virus?
As long as Jailbreaking hasn’t occurred on your device, it should be safe from viruses. This is because viruses are programs which are designed to do malicious things- like steal your data or take over your PC- and then spread itself into other computers, and this can be done only if the virus is able to run on the device and communicate with other programs to control them or take their data. The good thing is- Apple iOS doesn’t allow apps to do that, as every app runs in their own restricted space, and by so doing, Apple has reduced the risk of viruses on iDevices. Put side by side with the fact that the App Store is the only authorized way to install apps, which Apple makes sure to review before allowing users to download, this shows the system is well secured.
